TrueNAS Build Part Deals – Prime Big Deal Days 2026

A TrueNAS build needs parts most deal roundups ignore: ECC DDR5, an HBA card flashed to IT mode, 2.5GbE or 10GbE network cards, a low-power N100 or N305 board, a case with enough 3.5-inch bays and an efficient power supply. This page prices those categories and mirrors our High-End Plex Server parts list at today's prices.

Verdicts: Our tracked low is at or below the lowest price we recorded before today; within 3% is close to it; cut vs list only is below Amazon's reference price but above our low; no history yet means we make no claim. The 90-day line shades the event days. Was prices are Amazon's reference prices.

Is it really a deal?

The Kingston NV3 1TB at $156.99 is our tracked low: the lowest we recorded was $156.99 on Oct 5. Of 16 rows, 1 are at or near our low, 0 are cut only against Amazon's list price, 0 cost more than usual, and 15 have no history yet. Server parts are rarely Prime-exclusive and we began recording them this week, so most rows show Amazon's reference price only. Hard drive prices have risen through 2026 on AI datacenter demand (why hard drives cost more in 2026), so a price that only matches our low is a better outcome than in an ordinary year.

The table above includes every part of our High-End Plex Server at today's price; the build page totals them.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need ECC memory for TrueNAS?

TrueNAS runs without it. ECC protects data in memory before ZFS checksums it, so many builders use it when the board supports it. The ECC guide explains the trade-off.

Why an HBA instead of a RAID card?

ZFS wants direct access to each drive. An HBA in IT mode passes drives through untouched; a hardware RAID card hides them, which defeats ZFS's protection.

Is an N100 or N305 board enough for TrueNAS?

For a home file server with Plex, yes: both have Quick Sync and draw little power. They lack ECC support, which is the main compromise.

Will these parts be cheaper on Black Friday?

Cases and power supplies often are. HBAs and ECC memory are niche and their prices do not follow retail events closely.
