What 10GbE asks of the rest of the system
The network is only as fast as its slowest link, so 10GbE on the NAS needs a 10GbE switch port and a 10GbE port on the computer, or a direct cable between the two.
Hard drives are the next limit. Western Digital lists its 26TB drives at under 305MB a second sustained, and a 10GbE link carries about 1,250MB a second, so the port pays off with several drives in an array, or with SSDs.
For a direct connection to one computer, the UGREEN DXP6800 Pro, UGREEN DXP8800 Plus and UGREEN DXP480T Plus also list two Thunderbolt 4 ports.
